Global address list not updating on client
Follow the steps below to force a rebuild on Exchange 2003 or Exchange 2007, and perform the client-side steps to download it in Outlook.
In Exchange Server 2007, the OAB can be updated using the following command from the shell: Update-Offline Address Book “Name of Address Book” To update all OABs: Get-Offline Address Book | Update-Offline Address Book On the client go to Outlook 2003/2007 | , wait for the download to complete (depending on your bandwidth and size of OAL, this may be close to instant, or it may take a few minutes)– Check if the user appears in the GAL If you want to have new users show up in the GAL for Outlook Cached Mode users more quickly, you can update the OAB refresh interval to have Exchange update it more frequently.

This situation however is extremely rare since the default maintenance time on Exchange is at AM and updates and downloads are usually performed during working hours.
The GAL appears to be complete otherwise, but newly-created users do not appear. During the logging I performed a manual update of the Black Berry Manager profile's Address Book.
Outlook clients on other machines do have a complete GAL including all newly-created users.
This means that in the worst possible scenario, an update to the Address Book won’t become available to the user until 48 hours after the change.
Hello, GAL is not updating even when I manually update the Outlook Address Book in each of the two Outlook profiles on the BES/ZCB machine.For me, new colleagues are not showing up and the contact pictures aren’t displaying either.They do for my colleague sitting next to me, so I don’t think it is a server misconfiguration or something like that.To make new users show up in the GAL immediately, you can force a rebuild of the OAB.
