Some students at the University of California, Berkeley are calling on the school to rescind comedian Bill Maher’s invitation to speak at a December commencement ceremony.A petition titled “Stop Bill Maher from speaking at UC Berkeley's December graduation” has more than 3,000 signatures. She voted in a presidential election for the first time in 1992, a year after turning eighteen, and later admitted she cast that ballot for Bill Clinton, the winning Democratic challenger.Holmes graduated from Princeton in 1994 with an economics degree after completing a senior thesis that examined the record-label business.I missed the first 25 minutes of the show because my cable guide said they were showing some old repeat of a "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel" instead of Maher. She's a Princeton grad, so I was sitting there marveling at how a person's political leanings can cause them to completely reject all reason and common sense. It's the same absurdly twisted logic that would have us believe that being an 'intellectual' is a bad thing these days. She doesn't have to be some "bleeding-heart," but Bill Frist??? That is the only reason that total slime Amy was on the show.I thought maybe Maher was taking the night off because of Halloween (i.e., not wanting to waste a new show on a night most people would be out of the house). If you watched very closely, they were flirting below the level of the debate. Hell, Rush Limbaugh admitted flat out he doesn't believe half the stuff he says, he just "carries water" for his masters. How can these supposedly educated female Republican pundits talk up Palin as if she were actually someone to be admired and taken seriously and not the utter fool and nutcase that the majority of the country have come to see her as? She's a Princeton grad, so I was sitting there marveling at how a person's political leanings can cause them to completely reject all reason and common sense. His cynicism used to have a charm about it and now it is just ugly. There were moments when it was stunning the degree to which she was contorting logic. I keep trying with Maher, but I'm finding him less and less likeable, and his humor doesn't affect me like it used to. It was much easier for him to try to look balanced when Clinton was in the white house.
From 1999 to October of 2001, Holmes wrote a monthly guest column for USA Today.
For a time, she lived in Seattle and worked as an assistant on music video shoots, but in 1995 she moved to Washington, DC.
There she found a job with the Independent Women's Forum (IWF), a nonprofit think tank founded by conservative women that issued policy papers on—and led public-relations efforts for—proposed reform measures, such as mandatory HIV testing for pregnant women.
I hate, hate, hate that disgusting Republican shill Amy Holmes.
I don't know how she could possibly live with herself spouting all that conservative bullshit.1973— Political commentator Amy Holmes is a political commentator for CNN and a Republican strategist who spent three years as the senior speechwriter to the former U.
